Attending Camp Christian is an important part of the Linworth experience. The event is named for the location where it occurs, Camp Christian, and has no religious association. It is symbolic of much of what Linworth is about. The school closes down on a Thursday, and students give up a Friday that they would normally have off of school to allow students and staff an opportunity to get to know each other in new and different roles.
The Camp Christian adventure affords new students a chance to meet new people, while also permitting returning Linworth students to develop new friendships. Camp Christian also allows both students and staff members the chance to bridge some of the gaps which may exist between two generations. Camp Christian enables this through a variety of activities.
Students and staff work weeks ahead in planning and preparation of the experience for the community. While at Camp Christian, members of the community take part in a variety of games and activities including joint preparation of meals along with cleanup.
The talent show is one of the most important parts of Camp Christian. Students and staff are both encouraged to participate in this event to help nurture confidence and self-expression.
